Student Supports

At SNP Secondary School, we are committed to supporting the whole student—academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. We recognize that every learner is unique, and we strive to create an inclusive environment where all students feel empowered to succeed and thrive.

Our range of student support services is designed to meet diverse needs, whether it’s accessing academic help, maintaining well-being, building social connections, or staying energized throughout the day. From the Student Success Centre and Snack Program, to our Social Counselor and Weight Room, students have access to caring staff, helpful resources, and welcoming spaces.

Student Success Center

At SNP Secondary School, the Student Success Center (SSC) is here to support every learner’s journey. Whether students need extra academic help, a quiet place to study or just a space to recharge, the SSC is open and welcoming.

The Student Success Center also plays a key role in meeting accodation needs, providing access to the supports for students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to receive the tools, time and strategies needed for success. Accommodations aren’t just for students with IEPs; our team is here to help all students find the supports that work best for them.

Students can utilize the Student Success Center to:

Snack Program

At SNP Secondary School we offer a student snack room that is open daily from 8:30-8:50am and again at lunch from 11:30-12:30pm. Our snack program provides healthy and accessible snacks to help students stay focused and evergized throughout the say. No sign-up is needed; students are welcome to stop by and grab a snack whenever the room is open.

The Snack Program offers:

Meet Suzie Miller, the Social Counsellor at SNP Secondary School. Suzie is dedicated to supporting students’ emotional well-being, personal growth, and social development. Her teachings and guiding ways are connected to our Treaty relationships and grounded in our Haudenosaunee Values. Suzie has an open-door policy and is available to meet with students one-on-one or in group settings. Whether you’re navigating personal challenges, looking to strengthen relationships, or just need someone to talk to, she’s here to help in a safe and confidential space.

She offers:

At SNP Secondary School, we believe physical wellness is an essential part of a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Our fully equipped weight room plays a key role in supporting students’ physical development, strength, and overall well-being.

The weight room is available to students during designated open weight room sessions at lunch, giving them the opportunity to stay active, build fitness goals, and develop healthy habits in a supervised environment. In addition, the weight room is an integral part of our Physical Education curriculum, where students learn proper techniques, safety practices, and personalized training strategies as part of their coursework.
