Applying to SNP Secondary School is your first step toward an educational experience rooted in culture, community, and personal growth. We offer a wide range of streamed courses to meet diverse learning needs, including destreamed, academic, applied, workplace, college, and university level classes. However, we do not offer locally developed courses. Whether you’re Indigenous or non-Indigenous, all students are welcome to learn in a supportive environment that values connection, identity, and real-world readiness. Incoming Grade 9 Student?

Starting high school is an exciting step, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. If you’re currently in Grade 8 and interested in attending SNP Secondary School, please complete our application to begin the process of joining our school community.

Transfer Student?

Thinking of making a change? If you’re currently in high school and looking to transfer to SNP Secondary School, we welcome your application. Whether you’re seeking a smaller school setting, stronger cultural connections, or a fresh start, we’re here to help you transition smoothly.


Application Check List

To complete your application to SNP Secondary School, please make sure you:

  • Submit the application form (online or as a physical package)
  • Provide a copy of your most recent report card (icoming grade 9 students) or status sheet (transfer students)
  • Include a copy of your IEP (if applicable)

Starting to think about high school? We’re here to help you explore what SNP Secondary School has to offer. From attending school tours and open houses to learning about our unique programs, this is your chance to discover how SNP Secondary School can be the right fit for you.

Important Dates

  • April: Grade 7 students from Six Nations and Mississaugas of the Credit schools attend a special Grade 7 Day at SNP Secondary School.
    If you are a Grade 7 student from another school, please contact us to learn about attending SNP Secondary School events.

Grade 8 Students

Transitioning to high school is a big step, and SNP Secondary School is here to support you. Come explore our school through tours, meet the people who will be part of your journey, and find out about our unique programs. We’re here to help you complete your application and ensure a smooth start to your high school experience

Important Dates

  • November: Grade 8 students from Six Nations and Mississaugas of the Credit schools participate in a Grade 8 Day at SNP Secondary School.
    Grade 8 students from other schools are encouraged to inquire about attending SNP Secondary School events.
  • January: Application packages are distributed to Grade 8 students at Six Nations and Mississaugas of the Credit schools.
    Applications are also available year-round on our website and at the school

Current High School Students

Important Dates

  • Semester 1 Transfers: Applications for transfer students must be submitted by the second week of September in the school year you wish to enroll.
  • Semester 2 Transfers: Applications for transfer students must be submitted by the second week of February in the school year you wish to enroll.

FAQs

Yes, there is bus transportation, but only for students from Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. All students living off reserve need to provide their own transportation; there is a city bus stop right outside the school.

No, you do not have to be Indigenous. SNP Secondary School welcomes all students, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, who are interested in our unique learning environment.

No, we are a regular high school offering the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), but with unique programming that reflects Indigenous knowledge, culture, and land-based learning.
